Omiyage ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Omiyage mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Information We Collect

When you use Omiyage, we may collect:

Account Information: Email address, display name, and password (managed securely via Supabase Authentication).
Content: Photos, scanned images, and metadata (titles, descriptions, dates, notes) you choose to save.
Usage Data: Anonymous analytics about app usage patterns to improve the experience (via PostHog).
Device Information: Push notification tokens for optional notifications.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Omiyage service
To store and display your keepsakes securely
To process text extraction (OCR) from your scanned images
To send push notifications (with your permission)
To improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns
To manage your subscription and billing (via RevenueCat)

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). Images are stored in private cloud storage buckets accessible only to your account. Authentication tokens are stored using your device's secure keychain (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences).

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage
Google Cloud Vision: Optical character recognition (OCR) for text extraction from images
RevenueCat: Subscription management and billing
PostHog: Anonymous product analytics
Sentry: Crash reporting and error monitoring
Expo: Push notification delivery

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your content (photos, scans, metadata) with third parties except as necessary to provide the service (e.g., sending images to Google Cloud Vision for OCR processing).

Your Rights

You can:

Access and download your data at any time through the app
Delete individual keepsakes or your entire account
Opt out of push notifications via device settings
Request data deletion by contacting us

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a keepsake, it is permanently removed from our servers. If you delete your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Omiyage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
